Seljefløyte / Willow flute

The seljefløyte/willow flute/overtone flute is the instrument of spring. This is because if you want to make a proper willow flute, you have to go out into the forest in the spring/early summer when the "sevja rinn" (the sap is flowing). Then you can make a willow flute.

My willow flutes are made of a plastic tube, a mouthpiece turned from birch or juniper, and laced with birch bark. The birch bark is only for aesthetic purposes.

I dare say that the plastic willow flute sounds exactly like the "real thing". They will also last forever, in contrary to the real willow flute.

I divide the price of a willow flute into three categories (excluding VAT):

G - F: 900 ,- NOK

E - D: 1000,- NOK

Db - A: 1200,- NOK
