Tungehorn / Reedhorn
The tungehorn / reedhorn is like a bukkehorn, only with a reed instead of a trumpet mouthpiece. The reed can be made of juniper or plastic. Traditionally the reed is made out of juniper. The plastic reed is a bit more durable, but not as pretty as the juniper reed.
The horn can be made with around 7 finger holes, depending on the size. Here the scale can be adjusted. Normally I would tune a horn in G like this:
G - A - B - C - D - E - F#. Then you have the option to play in A-dorian, with a low leading tone below. You can also play in G major and G minor if you do some fingering variations.
I divide the tungehorn / reed-horn into three price categories based on size (prices exclude VAT)
C - Ab: 5000,- NOK
G - Gb: 6000,- NOK
F - Eb: 7000,- NOK
